About the event:

The Oklahoma Alliance for Healthy Families will host Truth at Tower Theatre, a free documentary screening and public information event, at 6 p.m. on Feb. 24. “Vaccination from the Misinformation Virus” will help parents, community leaders and concerned citizens understand the vital role of vaccines in public health. Family physician Dr. Mary Clarke, president of the Oklahoma State Medical Association, and Dr. Donna Tyungu, pediatric infectious diseases specialist, will lead a related discussion and take questions from those present after the screening.

About the documentary:

Directed by Emmy Award-winning producer/director Chris Schueler, the film includes infectious disease experts, epidemiologists, pharmacists, physicians and academics with expertise in misinformation as well as health disparities within community settings. It aims to explain how immunity and vaccines work to prevent disease and address popular falsities circulating on social media and in public dialogue.

Details for attendees:

Masks and proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test within the last 72 hours is required for all attendees. Social distancing will be observed.
